Dubsado vs. Honeybook

Welcome back again for another juicy topic at We Make Systems Sexy. We’re talking a little bit about my favorite CRM, Dubsado, and how it compares to another popular CRM, HoneyBook.

I have worked on setting up HoneyBook quite a bit, but I definitely prefer Dubsado over HoneyBook. I don’t want to say that HoneyBook doesn’t have its own benefits as well. So let’s talk about what they both do well. So here goes, Dubsado vs Honeybook.

For starters, they can keep track of leads and projects:
If the key reason that you’re choosing to use a CRM is to keep track of your leads and projects, both are great options for that. The actual system will catalog your contacts and your inquiry forms. Plus, it will have all your emails in one place, because you can integrate it with your current email address. This is really useful for keeping these actual leads and project client emails separate if your inbox gets filled with a bunch of spam and all kinds of other emails that aren’t necessarily client work-related.

Both of these CRMs have professional contact forms, so they have a way to actually put your lead capture form onto your website so you can grab leads directly from your website when people come to visit, instead of using that generic Contact Us form that’s usually available on a lot of websites. The lead capture forms are usually really simple to set up and then add to your website with a simple embed code. One benefit would be instead of using the website’s lead capture itself is that once you grab that potential client’s information it initiates a new project within your CRM. What I have seen with the contact forms that are native to websites such as WordPress is you get a lot of spam and breeze that comes through there. So being able to customize your lead intake forms through something like Dubsado, or HoneyBook, makes it where you can ask a little bit more detailed questions and the lead would have to choose certain options and actually type in answers. And first of all, that gives you the information that you need before they book a call with you, but second of all, it avoids those kinds of spam emails that come in.

Both CRMs have easy-to-use templates, even the smart field feature, or those kinds of custom block fields that populate the information directly into forms and that’s really nice because it saves you a lot of time. And these can be built on brand to your actual business colors and logos so you have a pretty product to offer to your potential clients.

Both Dubsado and Honebook offer invoicing, online payments, and QuickBooks Online integration. The really nice thing is that it’s really an all-in-one kind of service in terms of not just capturing client information and organizing contacts, but also being able to send your proposals, collect your invoice, have them sign your contract, all of that good stuff.

Sometimes it can be a toss-up depending on exactly what you’re looking for because they both share similar features, right? So then, what makes one better than the other?

In our world, Dubsado definitely is supreme, and here’s why:

Again, I have experienced setting up both, so I’m not speaking out of turn. If you want to set something up once and not worry about outgrowing it (because you can customize and improve your workflows with so much more capability within the automation, etc.)…

Dubsado is your option.

The automation really feels like the holiday that you’ve been dreaming of because it gives you back free time. You can be eating dinner with your family and Dubsado is capturing the lead and sending them to your scheduler with an email and next steps information (or however your actual workflow works). All of that is happening in the background once you get those automations and workflows set up and optimized.

With Dubsado you can also have it branded and even white labeled so that the forms have the name of your website rather than just Dubsado’s name plastered all over it. Plus, it really feels on brand to YOU and your business with that option to professionally wrap it all up in a nice package and put a bow on it.

The ONE con, I would say to Dubsado is that there is quite a learning curve. We recently talked about that learning curve in Dubsado in another blog post which you can read here. So you have to either invest time, or money with a specialist in order to get Dubsado set up to function in this amazing way. However, the return on your investment is guaranteed because you’re going to spend so much less time in that client onboarding process with all the things that can be automated as opposed to you spending hours doing the same processes over and over again each time you have a client or interaction with a client and so on. So yes, you have to either be willing to invest the time or the money to get it set up. But it’s worth it, 100%.
