3 Ways to Go from Stressed to Streamlined with ClickUp

Welcome to We Make Systems Sexy! Hi there. Ashley here with We Make Systems Sexy. I am excited to talk to you all today about ClickUp, my baby. I want to discuss 3 ways that you can go from stressed to streamlined using ClickUp within your business.

Are you ready for this? Alright, let’s go.


The first thing that I always say is that ClickUp is our one source of truth. What do I mean by that?

Within ClickUp, we can actually have the information for our business centralized. ClickUp allows you, as the business owner, to centralize information, and have it basically as your knowledge base, not just a task within this platform. That’s how we use it and we love it.

We do have information for our platforms stored in ClickUp including what platforms (tech stack) we have. I have my whole log of the different automations that we have set up all in a list within ClickUp. I have our SOPs linked into ClickUp. So we’re not hopping back and forth to different resources trying to find this information.

It all lives right within ClickUp.

 

And what I really love about that is when I do have a task and I need that information linked to that task, I can easily locate it right within ClickUp just using the ‘Relationship’ feature. Your information is centralized in not just a task, but all in one place, also the information that you need in order to complete those tasks.

This will reduce the amount of time that you’re spending jumping between applications and platforms and reduce the probability that you or your team members will also get distracted in the process.

The second thing that can help you to go from stress to streamlined with ClickUp is the way that you and your team are able to collaborate on tasks and projects within ClickUp. Now I will state honestly that my team also does use Slack, especially the more team members that you have and you are wanting to communicate about a lot of different items happening for your different projects or clients – we do use Slack.

However, we utilize, on a daily basis, the task comments within ClickUp which help us to collaborate directly, talking together about a task that’s happening, the project, or the product, we’re able to collaborate directly in the task.

Everything that’s happening, basically the production line, if it’s a marketing item that we’re going from idea to scheduled, we’re able to actually communicate directly within the task comments and it’s housed all within that same information. So then I’m not having to hop over to Slack and say, “what did Sally say about client A” getting me distracted.

Then I get distracted by a million other messages and it’s the end of the day before I come back to this task that I was trying to complete. Right? So that collaboration is really wonderful and also a great way to increase your productivity.

Lastly, the thing that I absolutely adore about ClickUp is that it works for almost any business owner and business type. It’s so customizable. There are so many different kinds of features to make it make sense for the way that your business works.

The ability to customize within Clickup is, to me, unparalleled in other platforms that I have worked in, with the most popular platforms being Asana and Trello. It does allow you to adapt this platform to your needs rather than it saying, “this is the mold that you have to follow”. There are all these other ways that we can workaround to make sense with your business.

If you are wondering to yourself, “Yes, but my business is in the construction field, how is this going to apply to me?” I’ve worked with businesses in construction setting up ClickUp and they love it.

Or “I’m a realtor, how does this apply to me?” Same thing. We’ve worked with so many different business types and business owners and ClickUp works for them. So don’t try to fit your business into a model that is designed only for X, Y and Z.

You really should be looking for something like ClickUp that can help to customize your project management tool, and customize your user experience to what you need it to do.
