We are going to be discussing 3 ways to be more present with your family without sacrificing or shortchanging your business by using ClickUp. You may already know by now ClickUp is one of my favorite tools out there. It is our project management tool of choice and that is because ClickUp is so robust, it can do all of the things! We live and breathe in ClickUp – it is our one source of truth. Today, I’m going to break down 3 common scenarios for business owners that are growing and trying to scale but they are feeling like, “How in the world can I keep growing with the way things are going now?”
We’re going to examine this in these 3 scenarios and the way that ClickUp is going to help you.
You have to leave your work at midday to go to deal with an emergency dental appointment for your child. That’s number one, the most important thing that you take care of your child’s health, right? But then panic sets in…
You have deadlines, you have due dates, your team members always need their hands held, they don’t know what to do next, and they come to you with “Okay, now what do I do?” But you need to go deal with this emergency situation even though it’s in the middle of a busy workday. How can ClickUp help you?
It doesn’t have to be this way. With ClickUp you can add recurring tasks as you come across them so these due dates don’t get missed. You can add these one time to tasks as soon as you think of them and set them to recur then never have to think about it again.
Don’t let things just come tumbling on top of you.
Add them in and utilize the tool as you’re going and the more that you’re building into ClickUp (especially the recurring tasks and templates that we’re going to talk about here in a second), the less these panic moments are going to happen because your team members will have tasks assigned to them and assigned to the right team member.
You will be able to see who is falling behind, who has too much on their plate, who has too little, and therefore learn how to better delegate the tasks. You’ll be able to see all of this at a glance without having to wonder or worry if things are being taken care of because you already know they are! So now go handle your appointment.
Let’s chat about those templates. I mentioned earlier about actually creating recurring tasks for the things that you know you do regularly. Well, it’s the same kind of concept with processes that you know you complete regularly. These can be created into templates within the checklist level, task level, or list level all within ClickUp.
If you have a delivery service that you do for a client, and you always want these steps to be taken care of to be done in the same way each time, make it a template! With a template, set it and forget it. You’re not going to have to worry about “Is my team going to know what to do? We’re on step two of this process. And we have 12 more steps and I’m going to be gone the rest of the day. How will they know what to do?”
Take the time to build out your templates within ClickUp. Then everyone’s going to have what they need in order to complete these tasks, so utilize those templates.
Raise your hand if you’ve ever woken up in the middle of the night saying, “Did I forget to do that? I know I forgot to do it. I think I’m missing something. Did we miss a due date?”
In a panic, right?
Are you waking up in a cold sweat, in a panic, in the middle of the night, thinking that you’ve forgotten something important because it’s all in your head or it’s all in your notebook?
